Problem

Mission Crew Commanders defending high-value assets against cruise missile threats have only seconds to weigh missile proximity, available defenses, and mission risk before making an intercept call — decisions that leave no room for a cluttered interface or a slow read. Accelint needed a command-and-control prototype that could cut through that pressure and hold up under real military scrutiny, sharp enough to support a live $62M–$100M Air Force contract pursuit.

Process

Before moving into high-fidelity, I sat down with subject matter experts and retired military leads and worked through Air Force doctrine (ATO, ROE, MIL-STD-2525 symbology) until I understood how a Mission Crew Commander actually reasons through a lane of defense. That research shaped the wireframes below: a full walkthrough of the dashboard, COA generation and review, and engagement flow, worked out screen by screen before any visual design began.
